Meet the Therapist
Hi! My name is Mikayla Arnett, MT-BC, and I am the proud owner and founder of Homefront Harmonies Music Therapy, LLC.
I received my Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy and minor in Neuroscience from Mercyhurst University in Erie, Pennsylvania. I had the opportunity to complete my internship and begin my career at a private practice in Charleston, SC, where I gained experience providing music therapy to a variety of settings, including schools, nursing homes and long-term care, memory care, special education, early childhood intervention programs and daycare centers, adult day centers, and home-based services.
I am familiar with working alongside clients with an array of diagnoses, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, ADHD, Intellectual Disability, Developmental Delay, ADD, ODD, and other behavioral diagnoses, dual-diagnosis, PTSD, dementia, and Alzheimer’s.
In addition, I have been playing the flute since I was 11 years old, and I teach lessons on the flute, piccolo, piano, guitar, and ukulele. I have a passion to serve and provide my community with access to high-quality services and create a place where music therapy is accessible to all.

1:1 Individual Music Therapy Sessions
Group sessions can occur in a variety of settings. Whether in facilities for children or adults, early intervention classrooms or academic settings, group music therapy is appropriate when addressing several clients with similar needs, such as developmental milestones, physical abilities, or emotional and cognitive processing.
Group Music Therapy
Traditional
Music Lessons
Structured for any age, any skill level, at any time. Focusing instruction on the flute, piccolo, guitar, ukulele, and piano, tailoring the lesson experience to your schedule and ability, offered in either 30- or 60- minute lessons.
Adaptive
Music Lessons
Utilizing the same instruments as traditional music lessons, adaptive music lessons are structured around alternative ways of learning for the student. Using enhanced visual and physical cues to learn hand placement, reading music, and music comprehension, adaptive music lessons offer a student-tailored way of connecting with music.
Led by a Board-Certified Music Therapist, this music class is made for little ones and their grown-ups. Ideal for children ages 0-3 years, these classes offer singing, movement, socialization, and bonding time through the sharing of music.
Melody and Me Parent-Child Classes
Classes for early intervention, daycare groups, or kindergarten-aged kiddos who seek that additional stimulation, socialization, and developmental skills with their peers. Encouraging communication, abstract thinking, and physical milestones for those little musicians that want a little more.
